What types of events does the UW Alumni Association host?

The UW Alumni Association hosts a wide variety of events throughout the year—including Homecoming, Watch Parties, Steamboat Socials, Tailgates and Pre-Game events, professional networking events, alumni travel programs, and celebrations through our affinity and regional networks.

Do I need to register for events?

Registration isn't always required, but it's highly recommended! Signing up in advance helps us with logistics—like planning for the space, food, and beverages—so we can make sure everyone has a great experience. It also lets us know which alumni are attending, so we can personally say hello or help make meaningful connections with other Pokes in attendance.

Can I bring a guest to alumni events?

Yes! We encourage alumni to bring friends, spouses, kids, or co-workers. If there are guest limits or age restrictions, that will be listed in the event info.

Do I need to be an alum to attend events?

Absolutely! Friends, family, fans, and future Pokes are welcome at most events. If there's a restriction, that will be noted in the event details.

Are events family-friendly?

Many are! Steamboat Socials, pre-games, and tailgates are great for all ages, and we love seeing little Pokes at our gatherings. If an event has age restrictions—like 21+ venues— that will be clearly noted in the event details.

How do I register or pay for an event?

It depends on the event—some are free, while others may require a paid ticket or RSVP. All event details, including pricing and what's included, are listed on the event page. To register or pay, simply visit the event's webpage and click on the link provided or the link provided in the email or on social media.

What should I wear to alumni events?

Brown and Gold is always in style! Most events are casual, but if there's a specific dress code—like business or cocktail attire—we'll clearly note that in the event details or Know-Before-You-Go email.
